A man walks up a hill of rough thorny grass with a boy lifted on his shoulders. I had pictured a father and son relationship, as Proverbs 10-12 describe a father leading his son in wisdom, for his protection:

"Listen, my son, accept what I say,
    and the years of your life will be many.
I instruct you in the way of wisdom
    and lead you along straight paths.
When you walk, your steps will not be hampered;
    when you run, you will not stumble."

I dressed the man in a white robe, resembling a traditional looking Jesus. Thus the painting reminds us that it is Christ that carries us over the impossible into God's kingdom.
