A depiction of Moses facing the burning bush as God gave him instructions. He removed his sandals because he was on holy ground.
When God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of oppression in Egypt, he did it in a dramatic way, in an audible voice through a burning bush. Often we don’t hear God so clearly, but we should not doubt that He is calling us and though we may doubt our own ability just as Moses did, God is with us and gives us everything we need to complete our mission.
When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”
And Moses said, “Here I am.”
“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”
(Exodus 3:4-5)
