Psalm 50 talks about God as a judge, and about the law said that the people were to make sacrifices. God wanted the people to make these sacrifices not because He needed their possessions but because the people needed a relationship with Him. My painting today focuses on this idea that God already owns and knows everything, so doesn't need us for survival, but we need Him. I pictured a sun and moon from verse 1: "...from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets," and the birds and animals from verse 11: "I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine."
