In this painting, birdhouse-shaped cutout holes in a wall of wood boards become home to house sparrows resting and nesting precariously on the edges. House sparrows are an invasive species in my area, and adapt well to urban life.  I hope this piece gets people thinking and talking about issues surrounding homelessness and creative strategies to manage housing shortages.  Also this painting can serve as a reminder of how much God care about every detail of every single person. Jesus said, "Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. -Luke 5:6-7 NIV
