Proverbs 10 was my inspiration for this painting, and I picked out verse 25 in particular to show with the image of the rocks standing firm despite being beaten by the waves, the storm waves leaving seaweed piles on the beach, and the pair of mallard ducks heading fearlessly towards the cold rough water.

"When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone,
    but the righteous stand firm forever." (verse 25)

The fact that the innocent little ducks look so calm and confident reminds us of verse 9:

"Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
    but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out."

Another great thought for today:

"Hatred stirs up conflict,
    but love covers over all wrongs." (verse 12)
